SILEN sloping low noise barriers (also known as NPCs) are used to reduce noise propagation from tram tracks. The elements are installed as close as possible to the clearance gauge specified by the technical standard. They are prefabricated reinforced concrete units, which feature a perforated sound-absorbing layer on the side adjacent to the track.
The panels are laid on compacted, levelled ballast or compacted concrete sub-base; the joint between the panels is sealed with a rubber profile. The relative position of the panels is fixed by recessed rubber pins in the upper part of the panels. Each section is fitted with threaded sleeves (mounting points) for handling during installation.
The standard length of the element is 2 m and the height is 1.4 m. However, the height of the visible above-ground section can range from 1.0 to 1.4 m, depending on the depth of installation. The weight of a single element is 1,405 kg.
Attenuation: 8 dB to 10 dB.
